A word from Worshipful James Hardy

FROM THE EAST

Brethren,

It is amazing how quickly the sands of time flow through the hourglass. The Installation of Officers seems like yesterday, but here I am writing a message for the May communication. The four months have quickly passed by.

On March 25th, your Lodge officers participated in the 17th District Exemplification of the Master Mason Degree. You have every reason to be proud of all the officers, more especially, the junior officers. A special pat on the back goes to our Senior Deacon for a job well done.

On April 15th, Paul Revere Lodge conferred the Entered Apprentice Degree on four candidates: James Wynot Monroe, Brice Edward Hatch, Matthew David Kenney and Scott Michael Dacey. It was impressive to see the sidelines so full. It certainly made a positive impression on our four new Brothers. The Fellowcraft Degree will be conferred on May 20th. Please, if you can, let’s fill the sidelines again in support of your Lodge officers and our four new Brothers.

This month, there are two District events I would like to call your attention to. On May 17th, St. George Lodge is hosting a Greek Night. The cost is $12.00 per person and tickets are available through Brother Mike Weydt. His contact number is 617-840-8091.

On May 24th, Wor. Craig Erickson has organized a might of Dog Racing at Raynham Park. Tickets are $25.00 and are available from Wor. Craig Erickson at 617-842-7787.

I came upon a short book published by The Masonic Service Association in 1982 titled Trestleboard Tidbits. In honor of our upcoming Fellowcraft Degree, I would like to share a tidbit authored by Carl H. Claudy: “The Fellowcraft Degree is a glorification of education, the gaining of knowledge, the study of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences and all that they cannote. Therefore, it is wholly logical that the degree should make special reference to the five means by which man has acquired all his knowledge.”
